National Public Lands Day Blue Ridge Parkway Volunteer Event

National Public Lands Day falls on the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Helene striking the Blue Ridge Parkway and the mountain region. The Blue Ridge Parkway plans to commemorate this anniversary with a Volunteer Workdays at Julian Price Park Campground located at milepost 296.9.
Volunteers will gather for an explanation of the work to be performed, safety message, site orientation and the completion of required Volunteer Service Agreement paperwork. The volunteers will then be split into smaller groups where they will clear storm debris mostly consisting of downed tree limbs from loops B, C, and D of the Julian Price Park Campground. The volunteers will drag this brush to collection points where it will be picked up for disposal later.
Volunteers should bring water, wear closed toed shores, long pants & other weather appropriate clothing. If you are interested, please RSVP using the Eventbrite link here – Public Lands Day RSVP.
